The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.
Proverbs 14:1
Goggle defines 20/20 vision as “normal visual acuity (the clarity or sharpness of vision) measured at a distance of 20 feet.”
Wearing glasses and contact lenses since the 6th grade, I know firsthand that 20/20 vision does not mean we see perfectly. Though having the ability to see clearly at 20 feet, items at twelve inches could be blurred and obscure. Likewise, relying solely upon visual perception or personal insight can lead to devastating consequences.
AWOGI aims to encourage women to shape, develop, and foster a mindset for greatness based on Godly wisdom. Today’s scripture reference compares the ramification of wise choices to foolish ones. Wise choices build up and foolish choices tear down. For years, I thought these were two different women. Truth is, the same God-fearing woman has the ability to make wise choice in one instance and foolish choices in the next eroding dreams, aspirations, and trust.
God has called women to be a powerful source of influence in the lives of our family and friends. This sentiment still reverberates in today’s world. Quotes like, “the hand that rocks the cradle… rules the world” and “behind every great man is a great woman” speaks to the overarching power of God to manifest His greatness on the lives of those she touches.
Let’s aim to see clearly. Let’s aim to see things from God’s perspective and build for greatness!
