Growing up in church, 1st Sunday was the time to tell our Determination. Determination Sunday gave members an opportunity to share testimony of our intentions to continue our walk with God toward eternity in heaven.
Wikipedia defines determination as “a positive emotional feeling that involves persevering towards a difficult goal in spite of obstacles.” AWOGI encourages women to be intentional and determined to walk in their greatest potential in Christ Jesus.
Truth is, God has a GREAT plan for your life! God’s plan has nothing to do with age, income, education, marital status or present situation. Even in the presence of obstacles and challenges, God’s plan is designed to allow each of us to impact the lives of others. The manifestation of that plan is based on our willingness to allow God to be the ultimate compass for our every decision.
Using the Bible as our guide and the Holy Spirit as our teacher, AWOGI objectives include a determination to encourage women to:
- Seek God’s heart for our true position and placement in His purpose
- Avail ourselves to be used by the direction of the Holy Spirit
- Invest in the lives of those in our immediate care
- Cultivate a Godly perspective for life and relationships
The Holy Bible is our compass for life. Let's seek God's perspective and follow His lead.
