A Portrait of Trust

The truth about Trust

August 5, 2020

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8

Luscious, green, strong, tall, well-nourished, over-arching—those are the words that come to mind when I read this verse. Just like the mighty oak, this portrait of trust can only be produced over the course of time.

Our sincere willingness to depend solely upon the Lord strategically positions us to receive the needed nourishment to prosper, grow, and thereby walk in our greatest potential.

The Truth About Trust

Extending, Expanding, Enlarging

God makes no promises of an adversity-free life. He does however, give us the tools needed to see things from His perspective and be victorious in our day-to-day. Prayer helps us to develop a closer relationship with God. The Bible provides instruction to guide us in His ways so that we are successful in our endeavors. And the Holy Spirit empowers us with the needed strength to flourish.

Emotional Stability

Trusting God doesn't mean we won’t experience emotional challenges. But in the face of fear and anxiety we will be strengthened to face life with continued confidence in God’s plan and purpose.

Ever Green

Always giving…. Truth is, God has generously given to us and we should follow His lead. Forgiveness, resources, kindness, grace, encouragement—all things we should be willing to extend to others for the simple reason that God has given us the same.
