The Bible is an AWESOME Teacher. When we don’t know how, the Word of God provides insight and direction.
That fact is also true for the subject of praise and thanksgiving.
Psalm 138:1-6 reminds us of this, “I will praise You with my whole heart; before the gods I will sing praises to You. I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your loving kindness and Your truth; for You have magnified Your word above all Your name. In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul. All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O Lord, when they hear the words of Your mouth. Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, for great is the glory of the Lord.”
To me, these melodious words are like water in the desert. My favorite part—“you answered me and made be bold with strength in my soul.” That's awesome and just what I need.
When you're not sure how to do something, go to the Word of God. Along with everthing else the Bible also teaches us how to praise and give thanks to God.
