Reciprocate God’s likeness.
In and of ourselves, we will forever and always be imperfect.
Yet, Matthew 4:48 commands this,
Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
When I think of God’s character and likeness, these words come to mind: loving, caring, forgiveness, kindness, and gentleness.
My willingness to continually commit to stepping outside of myself and see things from God’s perspective is the first step-towards obtaining the perfection that He requires.
Be Perfect—it’s a state of mind, a way of thinking, a verb that requires determination and action. Not to be who I am, but to be all that God is.
Being perfect means that I must take a good, hard, long look at me and admit how far I am from being all that God has called me to be.
Being perfect means that I will look to God for the strength and power needed to stand in the footprint of His existence and to walk in His likeness.
Being perfect means that I don't act on my own way of thinking, but respond in accordance to God's character and way of doing things.
Being perfect means that even when I miss the mark I won't stop trying. I will ask God for His forgiveness and start all over again.
So, let's Be Perfect!
