Be Steadfast

Steadfast—Resolute... Unwavering… Dutifully Firm—in other words, committed.

Increasingly, our society is experiencing commitment-phobia—the fear of long-term dedication to anything or anyone. The minute we see what appears to be the next best thing, we check out.

It could be the result of years of “have it your way” messages. Be however, we have become a world filled with fickle minded folk and self-pleasers.

I’m glad God isn't like us. His commitment to mankind is unwavering—He loves unconditionally.

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 reminds us of this,“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

The Bible is filled with words that encourage us to remain faithful to the cause. I think that’s because God knew what we would face. Our selfish nature coupled with the devil’s desire to deter us from accomplishing God’s will amount to a great deal of pressure.

The struggle is real. But our desire to please God must be even more real. Pure gratefulness to God for His goodness must propel us to obedience. Our efforts to accomplish our goals must be consistent. Most importantly, our love for God must be true.

Rethink your level of commit to God and the willingness to walk in His ways.

Commit to it and stick to it.

Be Steadfast.
