Bearing Gifts

· Black History,Her Life My Example

She came bearing gifts...

Like the wise men bearing gifts to baby Jesus, the Queen of Sheba brought gifts to King Solomon—gold, spices, precious stones, and wood.

1 Kings 10:10-11 records this, “Then she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great quantity, and precious stones. There never again came such abundance of spices as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon. Also, the ships of Hiram, which brought gold from Ophir, brought great quantities of almug wood and precious stones from Ophir.

Gifts express our honor and gratitude. The Queen of Sheba was wealthy in her own right and she was generous. For her gratefulness to Solomon she shared riches from her own country.

When it comes to gratefulness here are a few questions to ask yourself:

  • What does gratefulness look like to me?
  • How willing am I to give of my personal resources to express my gratefulness?
  • Do my gifts represent the very best of what I have to offer?

Take a few tips from the Queen. Come bearing gifts and make sure your gifts represent the very best of what you have to offer.
