Back to the Basics: Bible Basics
The writer of Psalm 119: 105 recorded this, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
Truth is, there's nothing more basic than this scripture. In short, the affirmation declares that the Bible (God's Word) provides insight needed to guide and direct us safely along our way.
Left to ourselves, we're prone to darkness. God's Word brings illumination (knowledge and understanding). The Bible provides revelation that rescues us from danger; brings our attention to the otherwise hidden; directs to do what is right; and guides us towards peaceful relations.
Our present situation is in need of some clarity and our future is in search of an expected end.
God always knows best. His perspective hasn't changed. Even when we don't agree or understand, following biblical principles will always provide the protection and direction we so desperately need. Use your lamp. Hold up your light.
