Celebrate Black History...

All year long

· Fabulous Friday,Black History

Fridays are FABULOUS...and so is Black History. As we close out the month of February, remember to celebrate Black History all year long.

The celebration of “Black History Month” also known as “African-American History Month” was inspired in 1970. Throughout the entire month of February, the history of African American accomplishments is shared in conversation, print, radio, plays, and television. Undeniably, our history should never be forgotten; and we have every right to be proud and where it with honor!

Ancient accounts indicate our powerful impact on building and shaping the world as we know it began with our ancestors long ago. Some were of royal descent, scientists, mathematicians, inventors, organizers, land cultivators, architects, laborers, explorers, artists, musicians, teachers, leaders, preachers, nurturers, and tradesmen. Our history has prepared us for today…

It is by the Lord’s great mercy that He enabled us to overcome insurmountable obstacles pertaining to our civil rights, yet in still, we must fight against injustices that oftentimes is thrust upon us. But God has not brought us this far to leave us. Celebrating our history ignites our faith in knowing “we have overcome” because God has a purpose and a plan for us. If God be for us, who can be against us.

Celebrating our history starts with giving thanks to God for blessing our yesterday, establishing our today, and favoring our tomorrow.
