Christians, Unmute

· Food For Thought

Have you ever attempted to watch your favorite TV program, or listen to the radio station on your preferred channel only to find that you couldn’t hear anything? Better yet, have you experienced talking to someone on your cell phone and suddenly you couldn’t hear anything?

Perhaps you begin to check the mute button on your TV or radio; and/or asked the caller if they were on mute. As we reference mute as an adjective, we are referring to something or someone being without sound, silenced, speechless, or abstaining from communicating.

Sisters, who and/or what has muted you? In times like these, the lost need to hear of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Why have you refrained from telling others about the Word of God?

The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” The Word of God is so POWERFUL that it cuts more than any two-edged sword. The word of God can deliver the lost, heal the broken hearted, and save those who are lost in sin and lead them to a life in Christ Jesus. So, I compel you to “unmute yourself.”

Remember, our adversary Satan is going to and fro on the earth, and walking up and down on it (Job 2:2). The goal of Satan is, and has always been to mute the believer. When Peter and John were preaching about Jesus Christ, they were beaten and thrown into prison (Acts 5:18-42), and today many want to mute true believers and worshipers from telling the truth about the Word of God.

According to Roman 10:14-15, “And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And, how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And, how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of those who bring glorious news of Jesus Christ.

So, unmute yourself, and spread the good news of Jesus Christ our Lord. Although it cost the believer nothing to share the good news of the Lord, it means everything to the one that hears and is saved!

TIPS to remember:

1.     Good news travels fast

2.     Do not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ

3.     Share the gospel with Love
