Consider the Consequences

· Food For Thought

Have you ever felt the sting of a difficult circumstances due to a poor decision? I have.

I’m sorry… does not cut it. I didn’t know …is not always the truth.  I made a mistake… never reverses the results.

Truth is we often jump in and pray that it’s not as bad as we think it will be.  The Bible encourages us to look before we leap, to set boundaries for our decision making, and to choose our company carefully.

Psalm 1:1-2 says, "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night."

Plain and simple, the Bible offers wise advice.  Blessings follow obedience. When we make decisions that are contrary to God’s plan we separate ourselves from God’s presence, miss out on His best for us, and open a door into the devil’s neighborhood.

We must be mindful that the devil is always ready and waiting to add his devilish ideas and mindset to the equation in an effort to defeat any attempt to accomplish the will of God.

Luke 22:31-32 says this, "And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.  But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

Every decision you make has a domino effect that impacts something or someone.

Break the Linking to Stinking Thinking

Step back.  Take time to talk to God, and listen to what He has to say and enjoy the fruit of your labor.
