Fridays are FABULOUS and so are Breast Cancer Survivors!
This is my cousin Jean. In opinion, Jean is the “Greatest of All Times.” Like the Thrilla in Manila, Jean continues to fight cancer and come out a winner.
AWOGI Honors Breast Cancer Survivors: Jean’s Story….
My name is Jean. The week of Thanksgiving 2007, I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. It's only by the grace and mercy of my Father, God that I am alive and well.
My story is simple. I discovered a lump in my left breast by self-examination. Initially, I dismissed any thought of cancer. It was the Holy Spirit that prompted me to seek medical attention. Upon further testing it was determined that I indeed had breast cancer.
To combat this dreadful disease I underwent four surgeries including a double mastectomy, the removal of lymph nodes and a spot in my chest within a four week period. This was followed by chemotherapy and radiation along with other drugs.
Cancer has brought many storms into my life. Nights were long and dark. Days were cloudy filled with sickness, financial woes and pain. Yet through it all I learned the depth of God’s love for me. His Word sustained me and His presence gave me peace.
God paid every debt—I still don’t know how. He healed my body and restored everything the devil took away even my hair (after being bald three seperate times).
Today, God continues to keep me. My faith in God continues to strengthen me.
Today, I can truly say with God we can overcome anything and everything life brings. My encouragement to you...Trust God, no matter what.
Fridays are FABULOUS…and so are Breast Cancer Survivors like my cousin Jean.
