Generational Blessings

May 16, 2023

Lead by example.
We’ve often heard the “generational curses” but how often do we talk about “generational blessings”?

We lead by example.

In Titus 2, the Apostle Paul gives specific direction on what pastors should teach the church, “But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine, that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women likewise, be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things—that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands…”

This list of powerful action words paint a clear picture and framework for generational blessings. Our children and others will follow our example quicker than they follow our words. They watch what we do and emulate that.

Our faith in God can be generational. A life lived honoring God can be passed down to our children and their children. True faith is demonstrated by our everyday actions.

Money and houses are fine, but will your children inherit your integrity, faith, and obedience?

Education and success are good, but will they follow your lead trusting God, building the kingdom, and fervent in prayer?

Generational blessings are a bi-product of obedient living. Lead by example.
