Elevate your thought-life so that your mind transcends over and above matters of your day-to-day experiences.
Goggle defines elevate as “lift up or raise something to a higher level.” I love that definition. It explains exactly how we should manage our thinking process.
According to Leon Brown's quote, “It all begins and ends in your mind. What you give power to, has power over you, if you allow it.”
So, if you give power to the cruel, the criminal, and the corrupt—you'll welcome that.
But on higher note, giving power to positive thinking, productive activities, and a preeminent mindset—you receive that.
Colossians 3:1-2 reminds us of this,
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”
How do we elevate our minds?
- Be honest with yourself and with God about who you really are, how you really feel, and what you really think. Present all that you are (body, mind, and spirit) to God—warts and all.
- Recognize that God has your best interest in mind (and always will).
- Consider all that He has in store for you (even though it’s beyond your wildest imagination).
- Then, respond in obedience reaching outward and upwards to meet Him where He is.
Going up…elevate your mind from the gutter-most to the utter-most.
