The Bible is clear about sin…
(1) God hates it
(2) There is always a consequence
(3) God can and will forgive it, once we respond appropriately
2 Chronicles 7:13-14 reminds us of this:
When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
God is faithful!
As we reach out to Him and change our direction, He has promised to respond in our favor.
Man’s Counter Reaction to Sin (should be)
- Humility
- Prayer
- Seek God’s face
- Turn from wicked ways
God’s Response to Man’s Counter Reaction (will always be)
- Hear our prayer
- Forgive our sin
- Heal our land
If we say we have no sin... that's a lie!
If we confess our sin... Then God is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us.
