It's Complicated...

· Abundant Life

Distractions can complicate your life.

We were designed to be relational—God created us to interact. He also set boundaries.

Some people are intentional distractors. While we are expected to have a positive influence on others we must be careful of whom we allow into our intimate spaces. Every associate is not meant to be a friend.

I love to watch documentaries about the animal kingdom. When looking for prey, predators are always in search of the weak, the feeble, and the young. The devil does exactly the same thing.

Wicked and evil people prey on the vulnerable. Unwise decisions to allow prowlers to get too close will cause strife, stress, strain, and complications.

Be prayerful and careful. Unsuspecting visitors are waiting to befriend you.

2 Corinthians 6:14-15 reminds us of this, "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever"

Pay attention and be alert. Examine your friends (especially new ones). Consider what they bring to the table. Seek God’s direction and guidance with those who are close to you. Even those who wear a smile could be posing as imposters.

It doesn’t have to be complicated. Identify imposters and move to exterminate them from your life. Make decisions that please God and avoid the sting of relational complications.
