Journey to Bethlehem
It was all part of God's plan. Prophecy indicated that the Savior would be born in Bethlehem. Though Mary and Joseph did not live in the city a well directed plan put them in the right place at the right time.
Luke 2:4-5
Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.
- A decree from Caesar Augustus stated that all the world must pay taxes
- Mary and Joseph traveled from their home in Nazareth to Bethlehem (about 80-90 miles)
The trip to Bethlehem was the begining of great things to come. When you walk with God, your travels will always be worth the destination.
