Keep Sounding The Alarm

March 16, 2023

Alarms are meant to get the attention of people, and many times it’s associated with getting a reaction.

For instance, a blaring fire alarm alerts people of a possible fire, which causes one to smell if there is smoke, look for smoke or fire, and follow directions to a safe pathway. The roaring sound of a train horn can be heard for several blocks to warn people and animals that a train is coming. And likewise, we as Christians have a commission to sound the alarm! “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matt. 28:16–20.)

The alarm that we can sound is “the precious lamb of God, Jesus Christ our Savior, is on the way back.” Behold, He is coming like a thief (Rev 16:15). According to Revelation 16:15, “blessed is he that watched, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. We are all familiar with the intense loudness of the fire engine and train alarms, but ponder about that great thunderous trumpet, at the command of our Lord when he returns. “The great trumpet will sound, and He will send out his angels to the four corners of the earth, and they will gather his chosen people from one end of the world to the other" (Mat 24:31).

This alarm will be earsplitting, so much so that the deceased who are believers in Christ will hear it and be awakened (1 Cor 15:51-53).

Sound the alarm and warn your brothers and sisters! Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of our God.

We are not to be ashamed of the glorious gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, so I encourage you to keep sounding the alarm everywhere that you go. Sound the alarm in love for souls to be saved! According to Jud 1:21-23, “keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.”
