Learn to Stand

· Food For Thought

Infants must learn to stand before they can walk.  As life’s fierce winds blow, standing can prove to be quite a challenge.

Ephesians 6:14-18 reminds us of this, “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness,  and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts ofthe wicked one.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;  praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—“

Learning to stand requires tremendous effort and specific intent. Learning to stand requires determination and dedication.   Learning to stand in the evil days requires God-strength, not people-strength.

The Bible encourages us to:

  • Make TRUTH is your guiding force
  • Aim to do what is GOOD and RIGHT
  • Seek PEACE not confusion
  • TRUST God in  spite of what you see
  • BELIEVE that God’s Word is true
  • PRAY without ceasing
  • Be on WATCH for evil

Rely upon God, seek His strength and stand in the midst of it all.
