Mental Illness: It's A Family Affair (Day 1)

Millions of Americans are living with a mental health condition — mental illness affects everyone directly or indirectly through family, friends, neighbors or coworkers. During the first week of October (October 1—October 7, 2023), health care organizations recognize Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) to raise awareness about mental health and provide support and treatment options for mental health conditions.

Help raise awareness about the importance of mental health, and getting support and treatment for mental illness: samhsa.gov/mental-health #MIAW.

Starting Sunday, October 1, AWOGI posts will feature mental illness information and resources in an effort to raise awareness of this condition and educate those who are supporting family members in managing this disease.

Additionally, you are invited to join us for this month's AWOGI discussion: Mental Illness: It's A Family Affair on Saturday, October 14 at 10am via zoom.

TOGETHER, We Care and We Share.
