Google defines purpose as, “the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists”.
Ecclesiastes 3:17 reminds us of this, “God shall judge the righteous and the wicked, for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”
Purpose is always at the head of God's agenda. Our personal experiences and individual circumstances are designed to point us to our purpose. Like God's golden thread of grace, His purpose is designed to bring about revelation and reason for our existence.
Purpose is not about me, my selfish intentions or personal gain. Purpose is all about God—who He is and His plans for mankind. We are God’s hands, feet, and even His voice to carrying out His plan.
When things don't turn out the way we expect or knock us off quilter, we must take a step back and consider God’s perspective.
In our attempt to understand our place in God’s purpose, we must be a willing participant in the process. First, we must develop a mindset that aligns with God’s will. Then, we must take active steps to live a life that pleases God.
So, as we consider what 2021 will bring, let's not forsake God's purpose and His plan. Let's not forget to walk in His will and His way. Let's find our place in God's purpose and walk in it.
