Just a few days before the dreadful crucifixion of Christ, He was celebrated upon His entry into Jerusalem.
The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! The King of Israel!” John 12:12-13
In preparation for the Passover feast, Jesus enters a city filled with visitors. When the people heard that Jesus was coming they welcomed Him with praises acknowledging that He was the King of kings and Lord of lords.
CELEBRATED…then, CRUCIFIED!
Some believed that Jesus was the Messiah, but others didn’t. Remember the Resurrection.
During Holy Week ask yourself the following questions:
- Where do I stand?
- What do I believe about Jesus Christ?
- How has the life of Christ impacted my own life?
