Surely, you’ve heard the phrase, “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop”.
When you don’t take the initiative to put your mind to work on something positive and beneficial, your thoughts become dark and empty—that’s the perfect environment for mayhem and madness.
Philippians 4:8 says this, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
The Bible is filled with insight that can change your life for the better, if you do what it says. Today’s scripture should encourage you and direct (or redirect) how you think. This simple instruction has the capacity to change your life and the lives of others.
Imagine what life would be like if everyone thought positive thoughts. You would treat people better—you would be better. And the devil would have to find a new line of work.
Allow your thoughts to bring about an element of light and life by thinking more positively about people, situations, and organizations. Meditate on the praiseworthy. Remember the good reports. Ponder the virtuous. Call to mind the well-intended.
Thinking on the good will lower your blood pressure, decrease your anxiety, reduce your stress level, and make you smile more often.
Put your mind to work on doing something great. Cheer for the next person. Do a good deed for a stranger. Tell your loved one what you love about them.
Put your mind to work on creating a more pleasant environment for others and put the devil out of business.
