Queen Me

· Food For Thought

Have you heard the quote, ‘heavy is the head that wears the crown’? It’s a play on the original quote penned by William Shakespeare.

Today, many women refer to themselves as “QUEENs”. And I'll admit that I don't particularly care to refer to myself in this way. In most cases this reference carries with it honor, respect, and material stuff. While no one in their right mind would refuse those things real QUEENs have queen-sized responsibilities.

Our ability to encourage and influence others must stem from our willingness to give of ourselves in support of the greater good. Consistent and constant sacrifice is the day-to-day norm. Seeing the needs and working to meet or exceed them is a resume requirement.

Isaiah 62:3 encourages us with these words, “You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, And a royal diadem in the hand of your God.”

Allow God to utilize you in the capacity to which He ordains. Real queens work hard. Even when the work is dirty, the effort of good queens are genuine and sincere.

While notable queens are rewarded royally the work of others may seem in vain. Truth is, God’s rewards are greater than man’s, for you shall be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord.

So, hang in there for the long haul. Put on your queen-sized panties and get the job done.

Be encouraged. If no one else sees your efforts and hard work know that God does not sleep nor does He slumber. Support your family. Walk in your purpose. Wear your crown and wear it well.
