Saved...Again and Again

The Transformation to Trust

· Trust

Salvation—deliverance from harm or loss, saved from eminent danger or ruin.

Typically, when we think of salvation, we consider the work of Christ. The reason He came was to save us from sin. His work on the cross was designed to pay the penalty for our transgression.

The writer of Psalm 13:5 proclaims gratitude for God’s salvation:

But I have trusted in Your mercy;

my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

While Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection were monumental, that is just the beginning of the story. The Bible declares (Romans 8:34) that He sits at the right hand of God making intercessions on our behalf. And I wonder what kind of prayers Jesus offers up for me.

Undoubtedly, Jesus is praying for my rescue again—not from hell, but for my strength to resist temptation (again) and not fall into the snare of the evil one (again). He prays that I see things from God's perspective (again) and that I make the decision to walk in it (again). He prays that I have the courage to tell the world (again) about a risen Savior who can save anybody (again).

So, like the writer of Psalms, I trust in God and I rejoice in His salvation—again and again.

Challenge:

  • Trust God
  • Be grateful for being saved
