Sing, Sing A Song

November 15, 2022

Day 15 - An Attitude of Gratitude 30-Day Challenge: Write down one thing you're thankful to God for and do something specific to return the kindness.

With fond memories, I recall my sixth grade class graduation included our rendition of the song, “Sing, Sing A Song”.

Originally recorded by the Carpenters and written by Joseph G. Raposo, the song encouraged us to write our own song and sing it out loud. Suggesting that our song should be happy, not sad; of good things not bad the lyrics inspired us to sing of love that would last a whole life long.

Psalm 69:30 reminds us of this, “I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.”

Just as my sixth grade graduation song, today’s scripture encourages me to praise God and magnify Him with thanksgiving by singing a song.

Truth is, there are so many great and wonderful things to include in my own lyrics of God’s love, mercy and grace towards me.

As my one specific thing to return the kindness, I will write God a song—my very own song to thank Him for is goodness towards me. I encourage you to do the same.

Sing, Sing a Song—Your very own song.
