As women we wear many hats—wife, mother, teacher, cheerleader, counselor, helper—and that's just at home. Most of us hold positions that are extremely demanding at our places of work, worship and within the community.
Though some may cast doubt on where our priorities should be, here's one that's unquestionable...The Prayer Position!
Ephesians chapter 1:16-19 are my favorite scriptures (so yes, I just had to print it in its entirety). Here, the Apostle Paul offers prayers of spiritual wisdom to the church:
...making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power
Challenge: It’s Time To Pray
If you are married…pray for your husband. Pray that he leads his family as directed by God. Pray that he is an example of integrity and strength. Pray that he is guarded and protected so that he is empowered to stand against the many evils of this world.
If you are a parent…pray for your children. Pray that they adhere to the many lessons you have taught them. Pray that they have the power to withstand peer pressure and follow God. Pray that they can hear the voice of God and walk in their intended purpose.
Pray for your extended family members and friends….Pray that they become men and women, boys and girls who honor God. Pray that you are their example.
Pray for your Pastor and church leaders….Pray that they walk in wisdom and seek God’s direction as they lead the people of God. Pray for their strength when dealing with and ministering to church folk.
Pray for your local, state, and national leaders… Pray for (and vote for) leaders who will work for the best interest of all the people. Pray that our nation lives up to its promises “to protect and to serve” and claims “in God we trust.”
Pray for yourself…Pray that you do what is necessary to remain close to God and walk in His ways. Pray that you are the words you speak and live by the message you portray. Pray that you actually become A Woman of Godly Influence.
