Think Twice.... Listen Twice.

Ever wonder why we have two ears and one mouth? Maybe it's because we should listen twice as much as we speak. Before we listen twice, we must think twice.

The Bible has a lot to say about our need for counsel, guidance, and instruction—maybe that’s because we really need it.

Most of us are legends in our minds.

Generally speaking, we have the best ideas and the greatest plans. Herein is the problem, our own ideas and plans are flawed by a limited view, selfish motives, and often lustful passions.

Proverbs 19:20-21 reminds us of this, “Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days. There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.”

Take time to meditate and contemplate decisions. Consider the factors and people who influence you (even at the basic levels). Be honest about your strengths and weaknesses. Seek the support of the wise and the trustworthy.   Invest in counseling. Make sure to think twice and to listen twice.

Listen to wise counsel and think about your next move. Your investment in wise counseling today will pay major benefits for tomorrow.
