Time

· Food For Thought

You’ve heard the phrase, “Time is Money”.  While most of us might not be able to put an exact dollar figure on our individual time, we would all agree that in general, time is valuable.

So, how do you spend your free time—watching TV, reading, being mad, talking to or playing games with your family, fighting, volunteering, sulking, alone, helping others or being negative?

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 reminds us of this, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;  a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;  a time to gain, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

Though two people may experience the same thing, how they handle it can be drastically different.   Time spent well will add value to one's life.  Likewise, time spend on the on the negative will devalue one's life.

Life is filled with  experiences that impact how we feel and shape what we do. Our response to managing our time will determine our future and who we become.

Spend your time well. Embrace life’s experiences with determination and fortitude. Rise up to meet every challenge, be ready to love hard, forgive often, and walk in wisdom.
