North will always be north; likewise truth never changes.
As generations come and go, society increasingly makes more and more adjustments to accommodate lustful pleasure and selfish mindsets. Behaviors that were once deemed lewd are now common place. Our moral compass has become a moving target sliding down a slippery slope.
You can bet none of this is a surprise to God and we shouldn’t be surprised either. What we should remember is that societal norms—good or bad—don't change the mind of God.
For those of us who subscribe to bibical principles, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 reminds us of this, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
As the world moves left, we must be sure to hold on to the principles of God’s word. Any of us at any time is capable to making a decision that lies outside of the realm of God’s best for us. All of us have the ability to make choices even when those choices land outside of God’s will.
We must remember that the word of God is always our compass. God sets the standard and the Bible provides us with examples of people who came before us whose lives paint a picture that point to God’s perspective for acceptable behavior and redirects us to the path of righteousness.
North will always be north and truth never changes. We all have the gift of choice. And every choice carries its own set of consequences. Choose wisely—Choose TRUTH!
