Ladies, guess what time it is? It’s Healthy Weight Awareness Month.
Now that the food, fun, and holiday festivities are behind us, it’s time to refocus on health and wellness goals so we can experience all that God has for us with a healthier lifestyle.
The first steps to living healthy and maintaining a weight that is ideal for height, body frame/body mass index is developing a plan and committing to it. Remember, the commitment has to be life-changing and/or life-maintaining; and it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Eating nutritious meals promotes management of one’s weight, so indulge in a diet that includes fruits, vegetables, low fats and low carbs; and let’s not forget about hydrating with water.
Spice up your life with increased physical activity by exercising 2-3 times weekly (if appropriate for your health) as it is an excellent way to promote physical fitness. Lastly, get proper rest and sleep. It will make a world of difference since it’s essential to one’s overall health.
Challenge:
- Find time to prepare healthy meals (prepping when you’re off from work is key)
- Overcome snack attacks (eating raw fruit and vegetables are excellent choices)
- Be committed (get an accountability partner and learn to appreciate constructive criticism)
- Don't give up (you may gain one or more unwanted pounds; evaluate your activities)
