What Does Praise Look Like?

November 12, 2021

Praise requires that we recognize who God is; acknowledge God for all He has done; place God in the position of honor; and verbally express your feelings of admiration for his blessings.

Isaiah 12:4-5 puts it this way,  "And in that day you will say: “Praise the Lord, call upon His name; Declare His deeds among the peoples, Make mention that His name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, For He has done excellent things; This is known in all the earth."

Knowing this, here  are a few things to consider:

Recognize God as

  • Creator of the universe an all living things
  • The Holy One
  • Righteous King
  • An Awesome Deliverer

Acknowledge God For All He Has Done

  • He Sustains life
  • He gives strength to stand and endure
  • He gives  pace in the midst of storms
  • He inspired men to write the Bible

Place God in the Position of Honor

  • The Father
  • The Son (Savior of the World)
  • The Holy Spirit (Mind of God)

Verbally Express Feelings of Admiration

  • I praise You for Your greatness
  • I give You honor for who You are
  • I thank You for all that You have done for me
  • I glorify Your Holy Name
  • I am grateful for Your many blessings
  • You are King of King and Lord of Lords
  • You are my shelter and shield
  • You are faithful and kind
  • You are loving and gracious
  •  You are mercify and forgiving

Praise the Lord:  Call upon His Name. Declare His Name among the peoples—this is what praise looks like.
