When The Devil Had A Heart

· Hell Week,Food For Thought

These 100 degree temperatures got me to thinking—Hell is not for me.

It’s Hell Week: Beat the Heat

When the devil had a heart, his name was Lucifer (which means light) son of the morning. Lucifer was an angel who got too big for his britches.

Isaiah 14:12-15 acknowledges the fall of Lucifer (the devil) because of his desire to take God’s place.

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell…”

Lucifer’s heart became filled with pride and he wanted to be higher than God. Sinful pride caused him to be kicked out of heaven. He didn't go alone. Because of his influence many angels went with him.

So, what does your heart look like? And who are you influencing?

Sin stains the heart. Any action that falls outside of God’s character causes separated from Him. We must guard our hearts against pride and all other sin, else we too will be guilty of dishonoring God and therefore, seperated.

Forgiveness cleanses a filthy heart. Like anyone else, Lucifer had a second chance, but chose not to ask for forgiveness nor turn away from his evil existence.

We all have sinned. The key is to acknowledge our sin, ask God for forgiveness, and make a change.

Hell is not for me! Hell is a place prepared for the devil, his angels, and those who haven't acknowledged their sin; asked God for forgiveness; nor accepted Jesus Christ as Savior.

Beat the Heat and Hell’s Fury. Jesus Christ paid the penalty and saved us from sin. Accept Jesus Christ as Savior and follow His commands.
