    A Woman of Godly Influence

A Woman of Godly Influence (AWOGI) is an inspirational blog platform designed to encourage women as we seek a Godly perspective in managing everyday decisions.

AWOGI aims to share biblical insight that will motivate women to walk in our greatest potential. Not perfect, but striving to understand and operate in God’s purpose, thereby becoming investors in the lives of those around us.

As we seek the Father's will for our lives and follow His plan, we will be equipped to accomplish the incredible by touching the lives of others for the good of God's glory.

    Scripture Reference:
The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down. (Proverbs 14:1)

    Mission:
To encourage and support women to seek Godly wisdom and live by Biblical principles.

Note: The premise behind AWOGI's content is based on God's standard (not mine) as written in the Holy Bible. While I respect the opinions of those who may not agree, the AWOGI platform will never be used to debate the inspired Word of God.

  • What I Believe....

    About The Bible
    – I believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is inspired and has been preserved by God so that it is the divinely authoritative standard for every age and every life. (Matthew 5:18; I Corinthians 2:13; II Timothy 3:16-17; I Peter 1:21)

    About God: The Father
    - I believe in one God that eternally exists and reveals Himself in three persons – Father, Son, Holy Spirit – having each the same nature, attributes and perfections, worthy of the same worship and confidence. (Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; John 1:1-2, 14, 10:30, 14:15-17; I Corinthians 8:6; II Corinthians 13:14).

    - I believe in God as absolute and sole Creator and Sustainer of the universe, and that creation was by divine command, from nothing and not through an evolutionary process. (John 1:3, 10; Acts 17:24-25; Genesis 1:1).

    - I believe God, by His sovereign choice and out of love for men, sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ into the world to save sinners. (John 3:16; I Timothy 1:15; I John 4:14)

    About God: The Son
    - I believe Jesus Christ is fully God in the flesh and fully man. He was born of a virgin and He lived a sinless life. He taught and performed mighty works and wonders and signs exactly as revealed in the four gospels.

    - I believe Jesus Christ was crucified, shed His blood, died to pay the penalty for our sins and was raised bodily from the dead on the third day. Forty days later He ascended to the Father’s right hand where He is Head of the Church and intercedes for believers. One day He is coming again personally, bodily, and visibly to this earth to set up His Millennial Kingdom. (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6; Hebrews 1:1-2, 7:25; Luke 1:30-35; Ephesians 4:8; John 1:1-5, 10-14, 14:3; Colossians 2:9; I Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:3,11; Revelation 20:4)

    About God: The Holy Spirit
    – I believe the Holy Spirit is a person and is God, possessing all the divine attributes. He convicts of sin, regenerates, indwells, baptizes, and seals all believers at the moment of their salvation, filling them in response to their obedience with the goal of conforming them to the image of Christ. (John 3:5, 16:7-11; Acts 5:3-4; Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, 5:18; I Corinthians 6:19, 12:13)

    Julia R. Bolden

The wife of a Baptist Minister (Rev. Wilfred Michael Bolden) and Pastor’s Kid who grew up in the church, I am first and foremost a Born Again Christian. My husband is the love of my life and God's answer to my prayers. We have been married for over 38 years and are the proud parents of four young adults (two of whom are married), as well as new grandparents to four handsome baby boys.

Originally from New Orleans, my husband and I currently reside in Belle Rose, Louisiana. We both work and serve throughout Baton Rouge and the Bayou Region. With a Bachelor of Science in Health Management, I'm employed by a Managed Care Organization as a Project Manager.

Over the years my gifts and talents have been utilized in the area of administration and exhortation. I have taught, provided direction, and developed curriculum for Sunday School, Bible Study, and Conference sessions for women and children. Additionally, I have worked along with my husband to accomplish similar tasks for Married Couples Ministries.

More than 12 years ago, I was inspired by God to establish A Woman of Godly Influence (AWOGI), an effort designed to encourage and inspire women to seek God's perspective in all things. This work aims to provide a support for sisterhood as we walk in our greatest potential in Christ Jesus through spiritually inspirational messages by way of Daily Blog Posts, Monthly Bible Studies, Quarterly Newsletters, Special Events, and Conference Retreats for Women.

    My AWOGI Journey

The AWOGI journey began in 2009. The concept originated from my personal experience of not doing things God's way (which by all accounts is sin) and conviction in regards to my influence— so I thought —on the lives of those around me. My sin and conviction was followed by my repentance and request for God's forgiveness.

Little did I know, what started out as a very personal journey (just me and God) led to a more public expression. God challenged me to take a closer look at women in the Bible in an attempt to gain insight and practical tips to move forward in becoming A Woman of Godly Influence.

This process created a sincere desire to become an investor in the lives of others. God inspired me to embrace vulnerability by inviting other women along for this ride.

In July of 2010, I invited a few ladies to join me on this journey. Together, we began to study women in the Bible by examining their lives, relationships, actions, and attitudes learning from the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Through the stories of women like Rahab, Ruth, Eve, and Esther God has exposed destructive behaviors and mindsets; imparted strategies that help us to establish a foundation for righteous living; and challenged us to embrace current circumstances by allowing them to strengthen our hearts and build our character.

I don't claim to be a Preacher or Bible Scholar. I definitely don't consider myself to be perfect and yes, I am still traveling the sin — to — repentance journey. But I am armed with a personal desire to be better, a will to walk in God’s plan, and a yearning to live according to His purpose. Like wise, I want to encourage other women to do the same.

I HAVE NOT ARRIVED! I do falter and make mistakes, but press forward on this journey. My commitment to becoming AWOGI continues to be a walk of faith that requires complete obedience.

Thank you for taking the ride!
