Why is it that the evil characters are always women? Think about it—the Wicked Witch of the West—a woman; the Evil Step Sisters—women; and Cruella Deville—a woman… all women! 

Truth is, the presence is evil is not new. It lies within the souls of many—women and men.  

Wickedness and sin are learned behaviors stirred by the flames of those seeking power and control. Jezebel is an excellent example of this. 

2 Kings 24:21 “But there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the Lord, because Jezebel his wife stirred him up.” 

Cold, heartless, and cruel Jezebel’s influence led an already wicked king to be even worse. Bold and boastful, Jezebel was anti-God, known for witchcraft, murder and even killing the prophets of God. She was a woman in power and wanted to make sure everyone knew it.  She had an evil desire to control everything and everyone.

I wonder how she slept at night.  

The absence of God is not merely the absence of goodness it can be an invitation to bad trouble.  

Let’s be different. Let’s be better. Let’s always be on the lookout for good trouble by getting to know God and to do His will.
