God Has A Bad Memory

April 27, 2023

I forgive you, but I won't forget.

Many folk have voiced those words.  Some even say that God gave us a memory for a reason—so we can remember the bad things people have done to us in hopes that we don’t allow them to do it again.

For me, the jury is still out. While I recognize that a memory is good for recalling happy times, information, and where I put my keys, there are many things I'd  really prefer to forget.

According to Hebrews 10:16-17, the Bible says this,  “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

Some of us prefer to remember the bad things  others have done even after we have forgiven them. When it comes to sins that have been forgiven, God has a bad memory—He forgets them.

When God forgives us He no longer remembers the wrong we have done. Hallelujah!

Thank You, God for having a memory  that's so bad, you can forget my sin.

Now, help me find my keys.
