He is Risen!

Remember the Resurrection

April 11, 2020

What is the significance of a Risen Savior? Why is His resurrection so important? Simply put, because He said He would!

Matthew 28:5-7

But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”

Women were the first to get word of Jesus Christ’s resurrection. Going to the tomb early in the morning to complete the embalming process, the women were greeted by an angel who gave them the good news. And yes, women were given the initial instructions to share this great news and a woman was the first person to see and speak to the Risen Savior—but that's another lesson.

From that day to this one, no other person has claimed that they would die and come back to life in three days. The Bible declares that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Him. To validate Jesus’ existence and claim to be God’s son and our Savior, not only were miracles and teachings important, but the realization of His words coming to pass was vital—then, now and forever more.

To the women, the disciples and the people of that day, the undeniable phrase, "as He said", meant Truth had made a Way to over power death, translate into victory, come back to Life and walk among them!

This revelation encouraged and reminded them (and everyone who has entered into the world since) that just as those things were true, so was every other word uttered by Jesus Christ.

Secondly, the Risen Savior is significant and the Resurrection is important because He still lives today!

As the Bible declares, Jesus Christ now sits at the right hand of God interceding on our behalf. His suffering, death on the cross and resurrection expressed God's power and His love for mankind. Jesus paid the ultimate penalty for our sins. Accepting Jesus Christ as Savior releases us from the penalty of sin (eternal damnation in hell) and gives us access to a personal relationship with God and eternal life in heaven.

Believe Dat...(cause I'm a real SAINT's Fan!)
