Love Yourself First

June 9, 2020

Loving your family and others begins with loving yourself.

I recently read an interesting quote by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. which says, “…a lot of people don’t love themselves. And they go through life with deep and haunting emotional conflicts… you must love yourself. And you know what loving yourself also means? It means that you’ve got to accept yourself.”

Today’s Mind Right Monday post is a reminder from a message by Dr. King delivered at New Covenant Baptist Church, Chicago, Illinois, on 9 April 1967. This inspirational and thought provoking piece is entitled, “The Three Dimensions of a Complete Life” . Worth the it.

Everyday, we have an opportunity to touch the lives of our family, friends and the people we meets. As we consider our impact on those relationships and the future development of new ones, we must first take a long hard look in the mirror and ask the tough questions about ourselves. Begin with this oneDo I Love ME?

You are worthy of love...so, learn to love yourself.
