Strong Women Pray

April 2, 2024

Strength is a characteristic found in those who seem to be able to stand tall during difficult circumstances.

It may sound like an oxymoron but strength doesn’t come easy—it’s a gift that must be earned.

God never promised that we wouldn't have tough times and experience lack. As a matter of fact difficult times are designed to point us towards God. When we seek God's face, we have an opportunity to learn more about Him and how He operates.

This week’s example is the life of Hannah, a woman who seemed to be weak and lacking. Her sincere and earnest prayer touched the heart of God.

1 Samuel 1:26-27 records this, And she said, “O my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood by you here, praying to the Lord. For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him.

The end of the story results in Hannah returning to the temple to offer her son Samuel to the service of the Lord.

When she prayed, she promised God that if He gave her a son, she would offer the child back to the Lord in service. Her gratefullness included a rebate—a pay back plan that honored God in return.

Strong women pray—and prayer strengthens women to do extraordinary things.

If you're feeling weak—pray. If you're feeling down—pray. If you're feeling inadequate, insufficient, or not enough—pray.

Pray and be willing to commit or recommit the results of your answered prayer back to the Lord.
