January 20, 2021

Well, we’re 19 days into 2021. Many people have made New Years resolutions—how are you coming along with yours?

The start of a new year is a great opportunity to reset and restart—to evaluate (or re-evaluate) one’s direction and make needed adjustments to be better and to do better.

Google defines resolution as a decision to do or not to do something. Over the past year, we’ve had to make lots of decisions. In addition to the normal day-to-day, we've had to make decisions that changed the way we live, work, play shop, and interact with others.

Thought this may have become a draining process do not lose hope.

1 Peter 1:13-16 encourages us of this,

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

As we evaluate the options before us in preparation for the next decision remember this, the Bible reminds us to “be ready” so we don’t have to “get ready”.

When faced with the choice to do that which pleases God don't teeter/totter as if on a playground see-saw. "Swipe Right!" Do the right thing.

Refuse to put hope in the President of the United States, Senators, Congress, Governors or your Mayors.

Place your hope in the grace of God.

Make a resolution you'll keep...
