The Living DEAD...

Obedience is necessary and faith is required.

January 24, 2020

“Night of the Living Dead” .....ya’ll remember that movie, right?

Well, if we say we have faith, but do not produce any actions to back it up, we’re like zombies in that movie…Living, but DEAD!

Those aren't my words. The Bible tells us so. James 2:17 says, “…faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”

Truth is, most of us trust people and things more that we trust God. I get it....it's easier to trust what we can physically see, than it is to place our confidence in an invisible God.

But when it comes to God, obedience is necessary and faith is required. When it comes to God, FAITH is an action verb that equals deeds:

- My willingness to step out on what (I say) I believe about God….DEEDS

- My generosity to help a sister in need (especially when I’m in need at the same time)….DEEDS

- My ability to trust God and stand strong under unsurmountable pressures….DEEDS

Faith-Actions may require that we stop doing something we're used to or start doing something we're not used to. Either way, if we NEVER step outside of our comfort zone to see things from God's perspective and follow His direction, our faith will always be in question. Hence, Living…..but DEAD.

Challenge: Let Go, Let God...and LIVE

  • Stop trying to be the FIXER (God can handle it better than you can)
  • Place your worries and concerns in God’s hand and leave them there (exercise patience)
  • Meditate on scripture that address your concerns (it does help)
