Trust Provides Protection

The tendency of trust

August 12, 2020

The very nature of trust expresses the reliance upon a person to protect you from harm and danger, even if it results in personal injury to the protector.

Truth is, we are all in danger—danger of the penalty and the power of sin—danger of hell and eternal damnation.

Jesus Christ is our Protector!

Accepting Christ as Savior removes the penalty. Now that we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us, we also have the power to resist temptation and live a life that pleases God. Though we will never be sinless, we should sin less.

It is through the love of God that this new life can be realized and a heavenly destination obtained. Hearing the word of God is the first step. We must then, believe that God’s words are true and walk into a new life in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:13-14 puts it like this,

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Jesus Christ is God’s gift and salvation is His promise. This is God’s protection to all those who trust Him by faith.
